Between the years of 1919 and 1933, the US went through the Prohibition Era that made drinking any kind of spirits unlawful. There were many on both sides of the issue, but ultimately if you wanted to drink, you could find a way! Bootleggers abounded and there were many Speakeasies (illicit underground bars) that flourished throughout the era. Leader Block itself was rumored to be a Speakeasy location and we won't deny it. This dinner is to honor the day that law was repealed and there were many celebrations all over the country!
